Evan Ferguson ‘set to snub’ transfer interest

Evan Ferguson is set to turn down interest from Premier League rivals in favour of continuing his development at Brighton.

The teenager has attracted interest from a host of the Premier League’s leading sides after a breakthrough season at Brighton, one which has seen the forward score seven goals in all competitions.

Ferguson underlined his potential with a goal on his full debut for the Republic of Ireland last week and The Sun are reporting that Manchester United will send scouts to watch the 18-year-old against France on Monday evening.

Erik ten Hag wants to sign a centre-forward this summer and the Red Devils have been linked with a number of names, including Tottenham’s Harry Kane and Atalanta’s Rasmus Hojland.

Chelsea and Tottenham are also monitoring Ferguson’s progress, while Liverpool were keen on a deal to sign the forward before his move to Brighton in 2021.

However, the teenager is set to turn down interest from rival sides in favour of continuing his development with Brighton, who have handed Ferguson regular minutes this season and are pushing for a place in Europe under Roberto De Zerbi.
