Goncalo Ramos is on Manchester United’s shortlist of potential signings as the club look to sign a centre-forward this summer.
Erik ten Hag wants to bring in a proven goalscorer this summer and the Red Devils have been linked with a number of names across Europe. Ramos is the latest to be linked with the Premier League side, following a prolific season at Benfica.
The 21-year-old has scored 24 goals in all competitions for the Portuguese side this season and impressed with his performances at the World Cup in Qatar.
Ramos became the first player to score a knockout round hat-trick at a World Cup in 32 years, after hitting a treble in Portugal’s 6-1 win over Switzerland in the last 16.
Ramos is contracted to Benfica until 2026, but his deal possesses a release clause of €120m. According to the Record, the forward has been frustrated with Benfica’s refusal to reward his progress with a new deal and United are among the clubs keeping tabs on his situation,
The Red Devils have also been linked with moves to sign Tottenham’s Harry Kane, Napoli’s Victor Osimhen and Atalanta’s Rasmus Hojland as the club target the addition of a number nine.
