Declan Rice is not a transfer target for Bayern Munich despite reports that the midfielder’s management met with the Bundesliga side last week.
Rice is expected to leave West Ham this summer in order to fulfil his ambition of playing Champions League football and reports had suggested that Bayern Munich had entered the race for the England midfielder.
Sky Sports Germany are reporting that there has been no meeting between Rice’s representatives and the German club however, with the 24-year-old viewed as ‘too expensive’.
Thomas Tuchel is understood to be a long-term admirer of Rice and was appointed as Bayern head coach last week, but the club’s depth of options in midfield and the cost of the transfer mean he is not a feasible transfer target.
David Moyes has said it would take a British transfer record fee to sign Rice from West Ham this summer, with Arsenal, Chelsea, and both Manchester clubs understood to be considering a move.
Rice’s current contact expires in 2025 and he turned down the proposal of a long-term extension that would make him West Ham’s highest-paid player in May.

Bayern have also ruled out a move to sign Mateo Kovacic from Chelsea, with the club currently possessing Joshua Kimmich, Leon Goretzka and Ryan Gravernberch in central midfield roles.
Konrad Laimer will also arrive on a free transfer from RB Leipzig this summer, while Tuchel could look to asses Marcel Sabitzer when the midfielder returns from his loan at Manchester United.
