Manchester United have included Ajax’s Mohammed Kudus on the club’s shortlist of centre-forward options for the summer transfer window.
Erik ten Hag will prioritise the signing of a forward this summer and the Red Devils have made Harry Kane their leading transfer target, amid the expectation that the England captain will push for an exit from Tottenham.
United, however, are aware that Spurs will be reluctant to do business with a domestic rival, while the 29-year-old will command a fee of around £100m.
The club’s recruitment team have compiled a six-man shortlist of options for the summer, which the Manchester Evening News report contains Ajax forward Kudus.
Ten Hag worked with the Ghana international at Ajax and has been impressed with the 22-year-old’s development this season. The versatile forward can operate across the frontline and has scored 18 goals in all competitions.
Kudus came close to signing for Everton during last summer’s transfer window, but has since seen his reputation rise during a breakthrough season at Ajax. He also scored twice for Ghana during the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
Kudus will be considered as an alternative should a deal for Kane not materialise, with Napoli’s Victor Osimhen, Goncalo Ramos of Benfica, Atalanta’s Ramus Hojland and Eintacht Frankfurt forward Randal Kolo Muani also on the Red Devils’ radar.
