Marcus Rashford ‘out for a few games’ with groin injury

Marcus Rashford is set to be ‘out for a few games’ for Manchester United after undergoing a scan on a groin issue.

Rashford was substituted during the 2-0 win over Everton on Saturday after complaining of discomfort in his groin and a scan has since confirmed that the forward will miss the club’s upcoming schedule.

The 25-year-old had already been ruled out of Thursday’s Europa League quarter-final first leg with Sevilla, but The Athletic are reporting that the Red Devils now expect Rashford to miss ‘a few games’.

However, he is expected to return before the end of the season as United chase a top four finish and compete for the FA Cup and Europa League.

Rashford’s absence will be a major blow to Erik ten Hag ahead of a crucial run of games for his side, with the England international the club’s leading scorer after a career-best return of 28 goals in all competitions.

United travel to Nottingham Forest in the Premier League this weekend, before the second leg of their Europa League tie with Sevilla next week. Ten Hag’s team then face an FA Cup semi-final with Brighton on April 23.
