Pep Guardiola has discussed Manchester City’s decision to sell Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko to Arsenal last summer.
Jesus and Zinchenko departed for north London during last summer’s transfer window and have since had a crucial role in the improvement of Mikel Arteta’s side, who are five points clear of Manchester City at the top of the Premier League table.
Guardiola’s side face Arsenal in the Premier League on Wednesday evening, a fixture billed as a potential title decider between the division’s top two.
Arsenal manager Arteta this week discussed the importance of Jesus and Zinchenko, who have added title-winning experience to his emerging squad after decorated careers at City.
Each will be hoping to put a dent into the title challenge of their former side this week and, ahead of their first league return to the Etihad, Guardiola has opened up on the decision to sell the duo.
“We believed we had to take those decisions and all parties agreed,” Guardiola told his pre-match press conference.
”It isn’t just about one party. They are happy, we are happy.
”We have no complaints about either player and what they did for this club.”
