Harry Kane is reportedly open to seeing out his contract at Tottenham and potentially leaving the club on a free transfer.
Despite Spurs‘ struggles, Kane has enjoyed another fine season, scoring 26 goals and providing five assists in 44 appearances this season, becoming the all-time top scorer for both club and country.
His prolific goalscoring numbers have long seen him be a transfer target for other clubs, with the Spurs number 10 having been wanted by Manchester City two years ago, only for a deal to fall through due to Daniel Levy’s valuation of the striker.
City have since gone on to sign Erling Haaland, though interest in Kane remains high. Manchester United are believed to be the front-runners for his signature, while Chelsea – expected to appoint former Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino this summer – and Bayern Munich have also been linked.
Kane only has one year remaining on his deal at Spurs which in theory should diminish his transfer value, though reports have said that notoriously tough negotiator Levy will still demand £100 million for the club talisman.
According to the Telegraph, Kane is looking at ‘all options’, including ‘running down’ the final 12 months of his deal, where he would be then able to leave the club on a free next summer.
Manchester United have already started talks regarding a summer move for Kane, though do not want to be sucked into a drawn-out pursuit, with the Old Trafford outfit keen to sign a striker before their pre-season tour of the USA in July.
