Manchester United want to sign Harry Kane, Declan Rice and Mason Mount this summer as Erik ten Hag looks to turn the side into title challengers.
United’s focus is on the signing of a centre-forward and Tottenham’s Kane is understood to be the club’s top target. The England captain has scored 28 league goals for the north Londoners this season, but will enter the final 12 months of his deal this summer.
The 29-year-old has failed to win silverware in his career to date and Spurs also face the prospect of missing out on European football entirely for next season.
According to Sky Sports, United’s ambitious transfer plans are dependent on the club’s takeover, with uncertainty surrounding who will take ownership at Old Trafford after the final round of bidding.
United also have interest in England midfielders Rice and Mount. It is understood to be ‘unlikely’ that the Red Devils sign all three players this summer, but each are on the club’s list of transfer targets.
United are understood to have emerged as frontrunners in the race to sign Mount from Chelsea, who like Kane will have just a year left on his contract this summer.
The 24-year-old – who has also been linked with Liverpool, Newcastle and Tottenham – has seen contract talks break down at Chelsea and the west Londoners are not willing to risk losing the midfielder on a free transfer in 2024.
Rice is also on the club’s radar, though Arsenal remain favourites for the West Ham captain. The midfielder is expected to leave the London Stadium this summer after turning down a new deal and is valued at around £100m.
