Mikel Areta has thanked the Arsenal fans for their ‘unconditional love’ after the Gunners ended the Premier League season with a 5-0 win over Wolves.
Arsenal end the season as runners-up after a season of encouraging progress, with the north Londoners exceeded pre-season expectations to challenge Manchester City for the title.
Arsenal led the title race for much of the campaign before a late loss of form, but ended the season with a convincing win over Wolves at the Emirates.
Granit Xhaka scored twice on what is expected to be his last appearance for the club, before goals from Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Jesus and Jakub Kiwior sealed an impressive result.
Arteta took to the pitch at full-time to thank the fans and believes there has been a reconnection between the squad and supporters this season.
“Together we have reconnected the soul of this football club and the soul of this football club is you guys.
“We know what is our destination to bring success, joy and trophies to this club but in the meantime please enjoy the journey.
“Thank you for your trust, patience and the unconditional love you are showing to the team, staff and the club.”
