Martin Odegaard expressed his love for Arsenal after addressing the club’s supporters following their final day win over Wolves.
Arsenal thrashed Wolves 5-0 at the Emirates to end an impressive season on a positive note, with Granit Xhaka’s early brace and further goals from Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Jesus, and Jakub Kiwior securing a resounding win.
Arsenal were already assured of second place before their final fixture, but produced an impressive attacking performance to sign off the season.
Mikel Areta’s team exceeded all expectations to challenge for the Premier League title this season and end the campaign on 84 points, the club’s highest total since last being crowned champions in 2003/04.
An end-of-season slump cost the Gunners the title, but Arsenal captain Odegaard was keen to focus on the positives of the campaign when addressing the supporters in an emotional post-match speech.
“First of all we are all a little disappointed after leading for so long and being so close to winning the league.
“At the same time I think we have to look at all the good things we have done and the progress we have made, if we look back one year and see how far we have come.
“I am really proud of the team. We will look back at the good moments and we are ready to keep pushing.
“I’m so proud, it is such a big honour to represent this club and as captain as well, I feel so connected to this club, the supporters and everyone. I love it.”
