N’Golo Kante’s future at Chelsea remains unclear with no agreement reached on a contract extension.
Kante is out of contract this summer and will leave Chelsea as a free agent if a new deal is not agreed, with talks having been ongoing between the west Londoners and the midfielder in recent months.
Fabrizio Romano is reporting that despite negotiations reaching an advanced stage, the situation has now become unclear with no extension finalised.
Kante is attracting interest from several clubs across Europe and is understood to have a proposal from Saudi Arabia, with further discussions planned between Chelsea and the Frenchman’s representatives to decide his future.

Kante made just seven Premier League appearances during the 2022/23 season due to injury and has struggled with fitness issues in recent seasons. The 32-year-old has not started more than 24 league fixtures in any of the past four campaigns.
Chelsea, however, remain keen to keep the midfielder who has been a key figure in the club’s modern successes.
Kante has won the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup and Europa League since signing for Chelsea from Leicester in 2016 and has been awarded individual accolades including the Premier League Player of the Season, the PFA Players’ Player of the Year, and FWA Footballer of the Year.
