Chelsea have ‘no intention’ of selling Levi Colwill this summer as Brighton prepare an improved offer for the defender.
Brighton saw an opening offer of £30m turned down for Colwill last week and the Seagulls are preparing to return with an improved bid for the 20-year-old.
Colwill impressed on loan at Brighton last season and Roberto De Zerbi is keen to sign the defender on a permanent basis ahead of the club’s first-ever European campaign.
Fabrizio Romano is reporting that Brighton will submit a club-record £40m offer for the England u21 international, but are expected to see the approach turned down.
Chelsea view Colwill as part of the club’s long-term project and have no intention of allowing the centre-back to leave on a permanent basis this summer.

Colwill will feature for England’s u21 side at this summer’s European Championship, before returning to Chelsea for pre-season to discover his place in Mauricio Pochettino’s plans.
The academy graduate will hope to break into the senior side after an encouraging campaign on the south coast, one which saw Colwill lead the Premier League for progressive passes per 90 minutes among all central defenders in 2022/23.
