Bayern Munich are still hopeful that the club can sign Harry Kane this summer, despite interest from Real Madrid and Manchester United.
Bayern have made the signing of a centre-forward their leading priority for the transfer window, having failed to replace Robert Lewandowski with a direct replacement after the forward’s departure to Barcelona last summer.
Kane is a target for the Bundesliga champions as the 29-year-old considers his future at Tottenham. The England international will enter the final 12 months of his deal this summer and is understood to be open to an exit in search of elusive silverware.
Manchester United have a long-standing interest in signing Kane, while Real Madrid have emerged as strong contenders to sign the forward after Karim Benzema’s unexpected departure to Saudi Arabia’s Al Ittihad.
The Spanish side are reportedly set to submit an opening offer, but The Athletic claim that Bayern have not given up hope of persuading Kane to Munich. Kane scored 30 league goals despite a disappointing season for Spurs in 2022/23 and is viewed as one of the elite number nines in Europe.
Eintracht Frankfurt’s Randal Kolo Muani and Juventus’ Dusan Vlahovic are also under consideration as Thomas Tuchel looks to find a forward who can compliment Bayern’s cast of goalscoring wide players.
Bayern also want to sign a defensively-minded central midfielder this summer and have been linked with West Ham captain Declan Rice and Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong.
