Bayer Leverkusen will demand a fee of €40m (£34m) for Jeremie Frimpong this summer, with Manchester United reportedly interested in the right-back.
Frimpong has been linked with a number of leading clubs after an excellent season at Leverkusen, one which has seen the 22-year-old emerge as one of the most productive wing-backs in Europe.
Frimpong scored eight goals and laid on seven assists in 34 Bundesliga appearances last season and has been linked with a move to Manchester United as Erik ten Hag looks to add attacking impetus from full-back.
The Metro are reporting that Leverkusen value the defender at £34m plus add-ons, a fee that is ‘unlikely to put off’ interested clubs including United, Bayern Munich and Barcelona.
Frimpong came through the academy system at Manchester City before a move to Celtic, where he won a domestic treble in Scotland in 2019/20 before moving to Leverkusen.
He was named in the Bundesliga’s Team of the Season in 2022/23 and was included in the Netherlands squad for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, but did not feature during the tournament.
