Paris Saint-Germain have began the search to find a buyer for Kylian Mbappe following the forward’s announcement that he will not extend his contract with the club.
PSG have been left stunned after the forward formally confirmed that he will not extend his deal beyond next summer, leaving the Parisians with little choice but to sell the club’s all-time record goalscorer in the upcoming transfer window.
Mbappe has claimed that an extension to his current contract has never been discussed, a suggestion that PSG have branded as ’emphatically untrue’.
The club’s board are ‘furious’ with the 24-year-old and will now reluctantly put the France captain up for sale given the risk of losing him for nothing next summer.

The Telegraph are reporting that PSG have began the process of finding a buyer for Mbappe, but Premier League clubs are understood to have distanced themselves from a move.
Manchester City, Chelsea, Newcastle United and Liverpool sources have reportedly talked down a potential move for Mbappe, though Manchester United’s stance is more difficult to assess given the uncertainty surrounding the club’s takeover process.
Real Madrid appear the obvious destination for Mbappe, given a long-standing interest in the forward and the club’s need to sign a centre-forward. The Spaniards have tried to sign Mbappe in each of the past two summer windows and believed a deal was close last summer before the star recommitted to PSG.
Real Madrid had planned to sign a centre-forward next summer, but the surprise exit of Karim Benzema – alongside the departure of Mariano – has heightened the need for signings ahead of next season.
Carlo Ancelotti’s side could reportedly look to use Aurelien Tchouameni as part of the deal, with PSG having been interested in signing the midfielder last summer. Real Madrid have already committed around €100m to the signing of Jude Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund and could use Tchouameni in part-exchange to reduce the fee for Mbappe.
