Bayern Munich are considered favourites in the race to sign Napoli centre-back Kim Min-jae this summer.
Bayern are interested in a deal to sign Min-jae after the South Korean’s superb season at Napoli, with the centre-back named as Serie A’s Best Defender after an integral role in the Italian club’s first title success since 1990.
Manchester United and Newcastle are also interested in the 26-year-old, who is understood to have a release clause in his contract that will become active in July.
Fabrizio Romano is reporting that Bayern have moved ahead of the Premier League competition in the race to sign the defender, as the Bundesliga champions prepare to replace Lucas Hernandez.
The Frenchman has been linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern view Min-jae as the ideal replacement to bolster the side’s defence.
Romano is reporting that no agreement for Min-jae has been reached with Manchester United despite contrasting reports and Bayern have ‘concrete interest’ in the Korean, who heads a shortlist that also contains Villarreal’s Pau Torres and Wolfsburg’s Micky van de Ven.
