Kai Havertz has told Chelsea he wants to leave the club this summer amid interest from Arsenal and Real Madrid.
Arsenal have opened talks with Chelsea over a potential deal to sign Havertz this summer, while Real Madrid are also considering an approach as the Spaniards seek a replacement for Karim Benzema.
The Guardian are reporting that Chelsea are open to a sale, though neither club is prepared to meet the current asking price of around £75m.
Havertz has struggled for consistency since signing for Chelsea in a £72m deal from Bayer Leverkusen three seasons ago, with the Germany midfielder forced to spend large periods of his career with the club in a centre-forward role.
The 24-year-old has scored 32 goals in 139 appearances in all competitions, but is now keen to move on and Arsenal are prepared to hand Havertz a chance to feature regularly in an attacking midfield position.
Havertz scored 29 goals in 64 league games across his final two seasons at Bayer Leverkusen, but has failed to turn talent into consistent performances in the Premier League. He has shown flashes of quality, including match-winning goals in the Champions League and Club World Cup finals in 2021.
