Manchester United have placed a £20m asking price on Fred amid interest in the midfielder from Fulham.
Fred has just over a year to run on his contract at Manchester United and is understood to be one of several first-team players free to leave the club this summer. Fulham are said to be keen on the Brazil international, who would be open to a move to west London if the two clubs can agree a deal.
The Telegraph are reporting that United will demand a fee of £20m for the 30-year-old, who has made 213 appearances for the Red Devils since signing from Shakhtar Donetsk in 2018.
Fulham are not willing to meet the current asking price for the midfielder, but there is confidence that United will reduce their valuation given Fred’s contract situation.
United triggered a one-year extension in the midfielder’s deal last season to protect his value and will now look to recoup a fee for a player signed for £52m five years ago.
Fred made just 12 league starts last season and will form part of a clear-out at Old Trafford this summer.
Scott McTominay has also been linked with an exit and has admirers at Newcastle and West Ham, while Harry Maguire, Anthony Martial and Anthony Elanga could also move on as Erik ten Hag reshapes his squad.
