Borussia Dortmund have made an enquiry into the availability of Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher as the club look to replace Jude Bellingham.
Dortmund are in the market for a midfielder following Bellingham’s move to Real Madrid and are understood to have approached Chelsea over a potential deal for Gallagher.
Gallagher struggled for regular first-team football last season after returning from an impressive loan spell at Crystal Palace and his future under new manager Mauricio Pochettino is unclear, with a host of clubs monitoring his situation at Stamford Bridge.
The Daily Mail are reporting that Dortmund have enquired into Gallagher’s availability, though any deal would represent a club-record fee for the Bundesliga side with the midfielder valued at around £50m.
Newcastle are also said to be interested in the England international, while Everton saw a bid turned down in January and West Ham are said to have placed Gallagher on their shortlist of summer targets.
Chelsea are currently overseeing a clear-out of players with Mateo Kovacic, Kai Havertz, N’Golo Kante, Edouard Mendy, Hakim Ziyech and Kalidou Koulibaly all set to depart this summer, while Manchester United are chasing a deal to sign Mason Mount.
Gallagher is not a player that Chelsea are actively looking to move on, but could be sold should a suitable offer arrive as the west Londoners look to raise funds for Pochettino.
