Man United urge Kane to ‘force’ summer move with transfer request

Manchester United have urged Harry Kane to ‘force’ a summer move and hand in a transfer request at Tottenham.

United have made Kane their leading transfer target for the summer transfer window, but are prepared to walk away from the deal given Spurs’ £100m valuation of the forward and the north London side’s reluctance to do business with a Premier League rival.

Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain have also been linked with Kane, but each are unwilling to meet the current asking price.

Kane has just a year to run on his current contract and Spurs run the risk of losing the 29-year-old as a free agent next summer. Despite that scenario, Spurs have insisted that Kane is not for sale.

The England captain is understood to be keen on the move to Manchester United and The Sun are reporting that the Red Devils want Kane to push for an exit. United value the forward at around £80m and want Kane to declare his desire to leave in one final attempt to alter Spurs’ stance on a sale.

Erik ten Hag will move on to alternative targets should no progress be made with Atalanta’s Rasmus Hojland on the club’s radar. The 20-year-old scored 10 goals during a breakout season in Italy and has scored six goals in six appearances for Denmark, including a hat-trick on his first international start in March.
