Arsenal ‘approve’ Partey to Juventus transfer

Arsenal have approved Thomas Partey’s potential move to Juventus as the club’s overhaul in midfield continues this summer.

Partey has been informed that he can leave Arsenal as the Gunners rebuild in central midfield, with the north Londoners in negotiations with West Ham over a club-record deal for Declan Rice.

Arsenal are also interested in Brighton’s Moises Caicedo and Southampton’s Romeo Lavia and will allow Partey to move on during the current transfer window. The Ghana international’s contract is set to expire next summer and the Gunners are keen to recoup a fee.

Sky Italy are reporting that Partey has been given the ‘go-ahead’ for a transfer to Juventus for a fee of around €20m.

The 30-year-old is understood to have received a proposal from The Saudi Pro League but is keen to continue in Europe and Juventus view Partey as a potential replacement for Adrien Rabiot, whose future is unclear with the Frenchman out of contract on June 30.

Partey has made 99 appearances in all competitions for Arsenal since signing for the club in a £45m deal from Atletico Madrid in 2020. He could join Granit Xhaka in leaving Arsenal this summer with the Switzerland international having held talks over a transfer to Bayer Leverkusen.
