Roberto Firmino looks like the next top player to make a move to Saudi Arabia this summer.
Cristiano Ronaldo blazed a trail to the Middle East when he joined Al Nassr back in January following his release from Manchester United last November.
Since then, a whole host of players have been linked with moving to the Gulf state, who have invested heavily in recruiting top European talent this summer.
Ballon d’Or winner Karim Benzema has moved to Al Ittihad where he has since been joined by N’Golo Kante from Chelsea. Meanwhile, Kalidou Koulibaly completed his move from Chelsea to Al-Hilal at the weekend, while Hakim Ziyech is expected to join Ronaldo at Al Nassr.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Saudi side Al Ahli have ‘made a proposal’ to Roberto Firmino, who will officially become a free agent this week following the expiry of his deal at Liverpool.
The renowned Italian journalist says the Brazilian has a three-year deal on the table, with a medical potentially taking place as soon as this week should the 31-year-old agree terms.
Firmino had been linked with a move to Real Madrid in the window, though such talks have since gone quite.
Should he opt to move to Al Ahli, he could be joined by Chelsea ‘keeper Edouard Mendy, who is expected to complete a £16m move.
