Atalanta have set an asking price of €60m (£51.5m) for Ramus Hojland amid interest in the forward from Manchester United.
Hojland is a transfer target for Manchester United as Erik ten Hag looks to sign a centre-forward this summer, with the 20-year-old having shone during an exciting debut season at Atalanta.
The forward scored 10 goals in all competitions for the Italian side after arriving from Sturm Graz and has made an instant impact at international level with six goals in six caps – including a hat-trick on his first start – for Denmark.
Italian journalist Alfredo Pedulla is reporting that Atalanta will not consider bids of less than €60m (£51.5m) for Hojland, after Manchester United reportedly submitted an offer in the region of £40m.
United are working on a restricted budget due to Financial Fair Play regulations and the uncertainty surrounding the club’s takeover situation, with the Red Devils also in pursuit of a goalkeeper.
Inter Milan goalkeeper Andre Onana is the club’s first-choice and is valued at around €50m (£42.9m) plus add-ons at the San Siro.
United are also closing in on the signing of Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount in a deal worth an initial £55m. The 24-year-old is set to undergo a medical on Monday before signing a five-year deal.
