Roma are interested in a deal to sign Scott McTominay from Manchester United, with the midfielder linked with an exit in search of regular first-team football.
McTominay made just ten league starts last season after losing his place in the side to summer signing Casemiro and a number of Premier League clubs are monitoring his situation.
Sky Sports Italy are reporting that Roma have now joined the race for McTominay with Jose Mourinho keen on a reunion with the Scotland international in Serie A.
Mourinho handed McTominay his Premier League debut at Manchester United and wants to reinforce his midfield with the signing of this 26-year-old. McTominay could link up with former team-mates Chris Smalling and Nemanja Matic at the Stadio Olimpico.
Roma are expected to face competition from Brighton who are considering a move for McTominay, as the Seagulls prepare for the exit of Moises Caicedo. Chelsea are pursuing a deal to sign Caicedo, who is valued in excess of £80m at the Amex Stadium.
Newcastle and West Ham have also been credited with interest in McTominay, with the latter considering replacements for Declan Rice.
