Chelsea have placed Juventus’ Dusan Vlahovic and Montpellier’s Elye Wahi on the club’s shortlist of centre-forward targets with Mauricio Pochettino keen to add to his forward line.
Chelsea struggled for goals last season to score just 38 times in 38 Premier League games and Pochettino is keen to ensure his side are improved in the final third ahead of his first campaign in charge.
The west Londoners have already completed deals for forwards Christopher Nkunku and Nicolas Jackson, but remain interested in further attacking additions.
The Evening Standard are reporting that Vlahovic and Wahi feature on Chelsea’s shortlist, with the former tipped to leave Juventus after the club withdrew from European competition due to financial fair play issues.
Juventus value the Serbia international at around £77m, but are understood to be interested in a proposal that would see Vlahovic head to Chelsea in exchange for €25m (£21.4m) and Romelu Lukaku.
Lukaku is expected to move on this summer after spending last season on loan at Inter Milan, though Chelsea have withdrawn from negotiations with the Italian side over a permanent deal.
Wahi is also mentioned as a potential target after a brilliant season in France. The 20-year-old scored 19 league goals for Montpellier and is subject of interest from a number of sides.
Chelsea are also considering activating the €12m (£10.2m) release clause in Paulo Dybala’s contract at Roma, while the Blues are admirers of Napoli’s Victor Osimhen and Atalanta’s Rasmus Hojland. Osimhen’s arrival is deemed ‘unlikely’ given a huge price-tag, while Hojland has been linked with Manchester United.
