Moises Caicedo has admitted that he can’t turn down a move to Chelsea, amid the club’s interest in signing the Brighton midfielder.
Caicedo is a leading transfer target for Chelsea this summer and the west Londoners are preparing a significant offer to sign the Ecuador international, who has emerged as one of the Premier League’s most effective defensive midfielders at the Amex Stadium.
Arsenal and Chelsea each expressed interest in the 21-year-old in January, but the latter are now frontrunners to sign Caicedo after the Gunners focused on alternative targets.
Roberto De Zerbi has admitted that Caicedo is likely to leave Brighton this summer, though the Seagulls will demand a fee in excess of £80m. However, Chelsea are reportedly ‘confident that the fee will drop as they continue talks with Brighton’.
Caicedo has now made his feelings clear on a potential move to Stamford Bridge, outlining his desire to join a ‘historic, beautiful team’.
“It’s a big team, that’s true,” Caicedo told TC Deportes, as per the Evening Standard.
“A very historic team which I can’t say no [to joining] because it’s a very big, historic, beautiful team.
“The city as well is beautiful. It’s got everything beautiful.”
