West Ham are being linked with an ambitious move to sign Bayern Munich midfielder Leon Goretzka as the club look to replace Declan Rice.
West Ham are targeting midfield additions after the £105m sale of Rice to Arsenal and are understood to be considering a bold move to bring Goretzka to the Premier League.
Bayern are reportedly open to allowing the 28-year-old to leave should a suitable offer arrive, as the Bundesliga champions look to raise transfer funds to aid their pursuit of Tottenham forward Harry Kane.
Thomas Tuchel criticised Goretzka’s form during the second half of last season and Sky Germany are reporting that the midfielder could be available for a fee between £34m and £43m.
Competition for a midfield place at Bayern has increased following the arrival of Konrad Laimer from RB Leipzig, while the Bavarians also have Joshua Kimmich, Ryan Gravenberch and returning loanee Marcel Sabitzer among their options.
Goretzka has previously been linked with a move to Manchester United and is understood to have already turned down approaches from other clubs this summer, with the Germany international keen to remain at the Allianz Arena.
