Broja keen to ‘fight’ for Chelsea place despite exit talk

Armando Broja is keen to fight for his place at Chelsea next season, despite reported interest in the forward from West Ham.

Broja has been linked with an exit from Chelsea following the club’s investment in new forwards this summer, with the arrivals of Christopher Nkunku and Nicolas Jackson having increased competition for a place in the side.

The 21-year-old has not joined Chelsea on their pre-season tour of the United States as he recovers from a knee issue with curtailed his campaign last season, but the Express are reporting that Broja is ‘intent’ on forcing his way into Mauricio Pochettino’s plans.

West Ham are understood to be interested in a deal for the Albania international, who impressed on loan at Southampton during the 2021/22 campaign with nine goals in all competitions before returning to Chelsea.

The forward was on the radar of several top-flight clubs last summer, including West Ham, but turned down interest to sign a new deal at Stamford Bridge.

Broja is now prepared to reject approaches once again in favour of fighting for his place at Chelsea, who struggled for goals last season during a disappointing Premier League campaign.
