Franck Kessie is attracting interest from Premier League clubs with the midfielder linked with leaving Barcelona.
Kessie struggled to make an impact after signing for Barcelona on a free transfer from AC Milan last summer and has been linked with an exit following the Spanish side’s signing of Oriol Romeu from Girona.
The Ivory Coast international did not feature in a friendly fixture against former side AC Milan this week, amid speculation of a potential transfer.
Fabrizio Romano is reporting that Juventus are pushing to sign the 26-year-old, though the Italians will face competition from a number of Premier League clubs.
Liverpool and Tottenham are among the English clubs to have previously been credited with interest in Kessie, who has won league titles in Italy and Spain across the last two seasons.
Barcelona manage Xavi said Kessie’s absence this week was due to ‘some slight discomfort’, but refused to guarantee the midfielder would remain at the Camp Nou this summer.
He did, however, confirm that Kessie was aware of his place in the manager’s plans. Kessie made just seven starts in La Liga in 2022/23.
“Franck did not play due to some slight discomfort,” the Spaniard said.
“Regarding his future, I can say that he knows exactly what the situation is.”
