Real Sociedad have made an approach to sign Donny van de Beek from Manchester United, with the midfielder expected to leave the club this summer.
Van de Beek has endured a difficult time since signing for Manchester United in a £35m deal from Ajax, starting just six times in the Premier League across three seasons at Old Trafford.
The Netherlands international’s fortunes failed to improve following the arrival of former Ajax manager Erik ten Hag last summer and he now looks set for an exit in search of regular first-team football.
Fabrizio Romano is reporting that Real Sociedad have made an approach to sign the 26-year-old, following initial contact with Van de Beek’s representatives last week.
A deal will be dependent on the demands from Manchester United however, with Van de Beek contracted to the club until 2025 with the option of a further season.
Van de Beek will hope regular first-team football can earn him a recall to the national side, having not featured for the Netherlands since 2021.
Real Sociedad are also closing in on the loan signing of Portuguese forward Andre Silva from RB Leipzig.
