Joao Felix seems destined to leave Atletico Madrid in this transfer window as a new suitor enters the picture for his signature.
The 23-year-old has fallen out of favour with manager Diego Simeone. He spent the second half of last season on loan with Chelsea, for whom he made 16 appearances in the Premier League.
Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal have ‘approached’ the Portuguese star over a potential move, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
It is claimed that the Riyadh outfit are willing to offer a one-year loan deal for the player. Manager and fellow Portuguese, Jorge Jesus, has spoken to Joao Felix on the phone ‘several times’ in order to convince him to join the club.
However, Felix’s ‘priority’ is to keep playing his football in Europe, and in particular targets a move to Barcelona.
The former Benfica attacker is reportedly open to returning to Stamford Bridge following his short stint with the Blues.
“I don’t know yet my future but these four or five months I’ve loved it,” Felix said earlier in the year when asked about his time at Chelsea and his future. “It’s a top club, everyone in the club is very good to me, my teammates are unbelievable and I really like to be here.”
