Ten Hag believes Premier League will ‘miss’ Harry Kane

Erik ten Hag believes the Premier League will miss Harry Kane as the Tottenham forward closes in on a move to Bayern Munich.

Kane is finalising a move to the Bundesliga champions after Spurs accepted a bid worth in excess of €100m for the forward, who has entered the final 12 months of his contract in north London.

Manchester United had been linked with a move to sign the England captain this summer, but turned their attention to Atalanta forward Rasmus Hojland, securing the Denmark international in a £72m deal.

Ten Hag insists he is ‘happy’ with the club’s choice of centre-forward, but believes the Premier League will miss a striker of Kane’s quality.

“We have chosen a striker and we are really happy with our choice. But he is a great striker it is clear,” Ten Hag said of Kane at his pre-match press conference ahead of United’s opening Premier League fixture with Wolves.

“He has all the ability you want. He’ll be a miss from the Premier League absolutely.”

Ten Hag was asked whether the Red Devils had been interested in signing Kane, but refused to confirm whether the club had considered a deal: “I don’t have to go into that discussion and give an opinion. We consider a lot of things and don’t take decisions overnight. We are happy with the squad we have now.”
