Manchester United have turned their attention to Everton’s Amadou Onana as Erik ten Hag looks to improve his midfield options.
Onana is on the Red Devils radar as Ten Hag looks to add physical presence to his engine room, with the Belgium international having impressed during his debut season in the Premier League last term.
The 21-year-old signed for Everton from Lille in a deal worth £33m last summer and the Toffees – who are reluctant to lose the midfielder – would demand significant profit on that deal before agreeing to a sale.
The Guardian are reporting that Everton do not need to sell Onana in order to bring in funds to strengthen this summer, as Sean Dyche’s side target a centre-forward before the deadline.
Manchester United have also been linked with Fiorentina’s Sofyan Amrabat, who has entered the final 12 months of his deal with the Italian side.
The 26-year-old impressed as Morocco reached the World Cup semi-finals in Qatar last winter and helped Fiorentina to the Coppa Italia and Europa Conference League finals in 2022/23.
Scott McTominay could be allowed to leave should another midfielder be signed, with West Ham having seen an offer of £30m turned down for the Scotland international.
