Arsenal are looking to agree a new contract with Martin Odegaard as the club continue to tie down their leading names.
Arsenal have been working on contract extensions for a number of key figures in recent months and have reached agreements over long-term deals with Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli and William Saliba since the turn of the new year.
Odegaard is next on the club’s list of priorities with Fabrizio Romano reporting that the Gunners ‘want to advance’ in talks with the Norway international in the coming weeks.
Odegaard has evolved into a central figure in Mikel Arteta’s plans and was named club captain last summer, with the 24-year-old an influential presence as Arsenal finished as runners-up in the Premier League last season to secure a Champions League return.
The creative midfielder was named as Arsenal’s Player of the Season for 2022/23, after scoring 15 Premier League goals and providing a further seven assists for the north Londoners last season.
He has made 107 appearances in all competitions for Arsenal since signing on an initial loan deal from Real Madrid in January 2021.
