Crystal Palace place £70m price-tags on in-demand duo

Crystal Palace will demand fees of £70m each for Eberechi Eze and Cheick Doucoure before the transfer deadline, amid interest in the duo from Premier League rivals.

Palace face a fight to retain the key duo in the closing stages of the transfer window, with Manchester City considering an approach for Eze and Liverpool having tracked Doucoure in their search for a defensive midfielder.

The Eagles are reluctant to lose either before the September 1 deadline and the Evening Standard are reporting that Palace will demand £70m each for Eze and Doucoure.

Manchester City have made the signing of Matheus Nunes from Wolves their focus, but could make a move for Eze – who made his England debut in March – should a deal not be agreed. City have seen an opening offer in the region of £47m rejected for Nunes.

Doucoure is on Liverpool’s shortlist of potential midfield targets, after the Reds missed out on both Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia to Chelsea.

The Mali midfielder impressed during his debut campaign in the Premier League last term and was named as Crystal Palace’s Player of the Season. Only Declan Rice made more interceptions than the 23-year-old in the Premier League last season.

Palace have already fended off interest from Chelsea in Michael Olise, with the winger turning down a move in favour of signing a new deal at Selhurst Park.
