Ange Postecoglou believes there’s ‘more to come’ from James Maddison after the midfielder scored his first goal for Tottenham in the club’s 2-0 win at Bournemouth.
Maddison opened the scoring as Spurs maintained their unbeaten start to the Premier League campaign on the south coast, with the England international steering past Neto after being thread through by Pape Matar Sarr.
The 26-year-old was at the centre of Tottenham’s best moves and regularly dropped deep to contribute to the build up, with Postecoglou asked post-match if the midfielder is fast becoming a bargain signing
“£45m bargain? I don’t know what world you live in! There wasn’t anyone happier than me when we got him,” Postecoglou said, as per football.london.
“I think there’s more to come. I’m delighted we’ve got him.”
Dejan Kulusevski scored a second for Spurs from Destiny Udogie’s cross and Postecoglou alleviated fears over the latter, after the left-back picked up an injury late on.
“I think he just kicked the ground from what I understand,” the Australian said on Udogie.
“He didn’t want to come off but at that stage the way the rules are at the moment they go off for 30 seconds and I thought it was better putting Benny on and keeping the tempo up in the game for us. Just speaking to him now he’s fine.”
