The draw for the 2023/24 UEFA Champions League group stage has been made with the Premier League’s four representative clubs discovering their opponents.
Manchester United face a tough task after being drawn to face Bayern Munich, who have strengthened this summer with the £100m arrival of Harry Kane from Tottenham. Erik ten Hag’s team also face fixtures with FC Copenhagen and Galatasaray.
Manchester City ended their wait for an elusive European success last season and the holders have been drawn to face RB Leipzig, a rematch of last season’s last-16 tie, Red Star Belgrade and Young Boys.
Arsenal return to the Champions League for the first time since 2016/17 and the Gunners, who were seeded second, face Europa League winners Sevilla, PSV Eindhoven and RC Lens.
Newcastle’s wait for Champions League football has been even longer as the Magpies return to this stage for the first time since 2002/03. Having been placed in pot four for the draw, Eddie Howe’s team take on Paris Saint-Germain, Borussia Dortmund and AC Milan in the tournament’s ‘Group of Death’.
