Premier League injury update as Arsenal, Liverpool and Brighton suffer big blows

Here is the latest Premier League injury update following the latest round of games, with several players pulling out of international duty with various issues. 

Arsenal: The Ghanaian football association revealed last week that Thomas Partey picked up an injury in training and will be sidelined “for a while”. Mikel Arteta says that it’s believed to be a groin injury, “but it can be something in between”.

Aston Villa: Unai Emery hopes that Diego Carlos does not have a “big injury” after he was substituted off at Anfield on Sunday.

Brentford: Mikkel Damsgaard has picked up an adductor issue that Thomas Frank says is a “minor injury”. He is expected to return after the international break.

Brighton: Evan Ferguson has pulled out of the Republic of Ireland squad after picking up an injury in the 3-1 win over Newcastle United at the weekend. Danny Welbeck missed that game due to a muscular injury.

Everton: James Tarkowski suffered a facial injury against Sheffield United, while Michael Keane and Lewis Dobbin picked up knocks.

Liverpool: Trent Alexander-Arnold has pulled out of the England after picking up a suspected hamstring injury during Liverpool‘s 3-0 win over Aston Villa. The French football association revealed that Ibrahim Konate has “not sufficiently recovered from his hamstring injury” to be a part of the national team squad this week.

 

Luton Town: Tom Lockyer will miss international duty with Wales due to a quad injury. Alfie Doughty has an issue with his Achilles.

Manchester City: Jack Grealish has pulled out of the England squad due to a thigh injury that kept him sidelined for Saturday’s win over Fulham.

Manchester United: Lisandro Martinez was subbed off in the second half of Man United‘s 3-1 defeat to Arsenal at the Emirates with discomfort in his foot. Reports coming out of Argentina suggest that he has not sustained an injury. Raphael Varane, Luke Shaw, and Tyrell Malacia remain on the treatment table, while Mason Mount should return to action after the international break.

Newcastle United: Sven Botman missed Saturday’s defeat to Brighton with a foot injury. Eddie Howe is unsure when exactly he will return.

Tottenham: Destiny Udogie pulled out of the Italy U21 squad this week due to a fever, according to Football.London.
