Graham Potter has turned down the chance to return to management at Lyon, who have considered the former Chelsea and Brighton boss as a potential replacement for Laurent Blanc.
Potter has been without a club since being sacked at Chelsea last season, just seven months after taking charge of the west Londoners.
The 48-year-old won just seven of his 22 Premier League games in charge of the Blues before being dismissed, with more than four years still to run on his contract.
Potter previously enjoyed success at Brighton and led the Seagulls to their then-best ever Premier League finish of ninth during the 2021/22 campaign.
The Athletic are reporting that Lyon made an approach for Potter, amid ‘mounting pressure’ on Blanc.
The former Manchester United defender is facing the sack with Lyon bottom of Ligue 1 after failing to win any of their opening four games of the new season.
However, Potter has declined the opportunity at Lyon and will continue to evaluate his future before returning to the dugout.
