Jadon Sancho is set for ‘showdown talks’ with Erik ten Hag on Monday to discuss his future at Manchester United.
Sancho’s future at the club is uncertain after the winger hit back at claims from Ten Hag that he had not done enough in training to warrant a first-team place.
The 23-year-old was left out of the defeat at Arsenal on September 3, with Ten Hag having said his decision was based on Sancho’s performance levels in training.
The England international took to social media to deny those claims, calling Ten Hag’s comments ‘completely untrue’ and suggesting that he has been made a ‘scapegoat’ during his time at Old Trafford.
The Telegraph are reporting that Sancho will now hold talks with Ten Hag on Monday, with the Dutch manager having been left ‘infuriated’ with Sancho’s public outburst.
Saudi Pro League side Al-Ettifaq were interested in a deal to sign Sancho before the deadline, but no move materialised before the Saudi window’s closure.
United could look to offload the winger during the January transfer window and were reportedly open to offers during the summer, though no suitable bids arrived.
Sancho has struggled to make an impact since signing from Borussia Dortmund for a fee of £72.9m in 2021 and has not started a Premier League fixture so far this season.
