Arsenal manager Arteta talks Tottenham ‘qualities’ despite loss of ‘special’ Kane

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has discussed the ‘qualities’ of Tottenham ahead of this weekend’s North London derby, despite the club’s loss of Harry Kane.

Arsenal take on their rivals in the Premier League this weekend, with both teams having made impressive starts to the new campaign.

Spurs are unbeaten in five league fixtures under new manager Ange Postecoglou and have made a positive start to life after Harry Kane, following the £100m sale of the England captain to Bayern Munich.

Kane is the all-time leading scorer in North London derbies and scored 30 goals in the Premier League last season, with Arteta having been impressed with how Spurs have adapted to the loss of their record goalscorer.

“They have many other qualities and many other players who can make a difference in the game,” Arteta said at his pre-match press conference.

“It’s a big change but they have adapted well without him. He was a special player and everything went through him. He glued everything together in many areas of the pitch.

“Now it’s different. They have some movement with certain players who are different.

“We are just focused on the team we face and trying to play the best way to cause problems.”
