Erik ten Hag insists there is a togetherness at Manchester United despite the club’s difficult start to the new season.
United have lost four of their opening six games of the campaign in all competitions after defeat at Bayern Munich in the Champions League in midweek, ahead of this weekend’s clash with Burnley in the Premier League.
Ahead of the game, Ten Hag was asked whether he had been surprised by the challenges which have faced him in the early part of his second season.
“No. It’s my second year, I know it’s not always only going up, you will have gaps and you can get stronger from it. That’s what we are doing in the dressing room, with all staff and coaches,” he said at his pre-match press conference.
“Everyone is united and at United you fight.”
The Dutchman insisted there was no added pressure ahead of facing Burnley, but said his side must be at their ‘best’ to earn a result.
“At United you have to win every game so the mentality doesn’t change.
“As always, it’s about how we play against Burnley. There is no easy game, especially against Burnley. We know how intense they play and I must say I like their approach and their adventure. I like the intensity and dynamics. We must play our best.”
