Roma are prepared to offer Chelsea the chance to re-sign Tammy Abraham as part of a deal to sign Romelu Lukaku on a permanent basis.
Lukaku signed for Roma on loan from Chelsea during the summer and has made a strong start to his career with the capital club, scoring three goals in three starts in all competitions after netting the opener in a 1-1 draw with Torino on Sunday.
Roma are keen to sign the Belgium international on a permanent deal and Calciomercatoweb are reporting that the Serie A side could look to offer Abraham as part of a deal.
Abraham came through the academy ranks at Chelsea and scored 30 senior goals for the west Londoners before a £34m move to Roma in 2021.
He scored 27 goals in all competitions as Roma won the Europa Conference League during his debut campaign, but struggled to replicate that return last season.
The England international is currently sidelined with a knee injury sustained in Roma’s final game of last season and is not expected to return until the new year.
Chelsea could be open to re-signing the 25-year-old to ease the pressure on summer signing Nicolas Jackson. The Senegal international has scored just once in six Premier League appearances and ranks second in the division for big chances missed (7).
Chelsea have endured a difficult start under new manager Mauricio Pochettino and have scored just five goals from six games, winning once.
