Osimhen future uncertain amid Napoli TikTok row

Victor Osimhen is understood to be considering legal action against Napoli after the Italian side posted a bizarre TikTok video mocking the club’s centre-forward.

The video, which has since been deleted, featured a clip of the Nigerian’s missed penalty against Bologna last weekend, with a high-speed voiceover mocking the forward.

Osimhen is understood to be angered by the video and has since deleted almost all of the images of him wearing a Napoli shirt from his Instagram account.

The 24-year-old ended last season as Serie A’s leading scorer with 26 goals as Napoli were crowned champions for the first time in 33 years, but now faces an uncertain future at the club with the player’s agent, Roberto Calenda, having said legal action is being considered.

“What happened today on Napoli’s official profile on the TikTok platform is not acceptable. A video mocking Victor was first made public and then, but now belatedly, deleted,” Calenda wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter:

“A serious fact that causes very serious damage to the player and adds to the treatment that the boy is suffering in the last period between media trials and fake news.

“We reserve the right to take legal action and any useful initiative to protect Victor.”

The situation is sure to alert Europe’s biggest clubs with PSG, Manchester United and Chelsea among those to have considered Osimhen during the summer transfer window.
