Chelsea are considering moves to sign AC Milan defender Theo Hernandez and Inter Milan’s Federico Dimarco as potential replacements for Marc Cucurella.
Cucurella is keen to leave Chelsea after an unhappy spell since signing from Brighton in a £63m deal in 2022, with the Spaniard having failed to feature in the Premier League so far this season.
The left-back was linked with a loan move to Manchester United during the closing stages of the transfer window and will push for an exit in January, with several Spanish sides – including Real Madrid – understood to be monitoring his situation.
Calciomercato are reporting that Chelsea will look to Serie A for a replacement and are eyeing deals for Hernandez and Dimarco.
Hernandez has emerged as one of the best attacking full-backs in Europe since signing for AC Milan from Real Madrid and was named in the Serie A Team of the Season in consecutive campaigns between 2019/20 and 2021/22.
Dimarco, meanwhile, formed part of the Inter Milan team that reached the Champions League final last season. The 25-year-old has started the new season in strong form and has scored once and provided three assists in six Serie A appearances.
Each are considered important players to their respective sides, though the Italian publication reports that the two sides do not view either as ‘untransferable players’.
