Chelsea are monitoring developments between Victor Osimhen and Napoli ahead of a potential move to sign the forward.
Osimhen’s future at Napoli is uncertain following a fallout between the club and Nigeria international, after the Italian side’s social media admin posted a TikTok video mocking Osimhen.
The 24-year-old’s agent has threatened legal action against Napoli, following the post of a now deleted video which featured a clip of Osimhen’s missed penalty against Bologna last weekend, with a high-speed voiceover mocking the forward.
Osimhen has since deleted images of him wearing a Napoli shirt from his Instagram account and the club have issued an apology to the striker, though his immediate future is uncertain with clubs circling.
talkSPORT are reporting that Chelsea will step up their interest in Osimhen with the west Londoners having held a long-term interest in the forward, who scored a league-leading 26 goals as Napoli were crowned Serie A champions for the first time in 33 years last season.
Real Madrid have also been linked, while Saudi side Al-Hilal are prepared to meet Napoli’s reported asking price of £173, according to Italian publication Gazetta dello Sport.
Osimhen is one forward option Chelsea are considering alongside Brentford’s Ivan Toney, though the Blues could face competition from Arsenal for the England international.
