Liverpool tracking Dortmund attacker Malen

Liverpool are understood to be tracking Borussia Dortmund winger Donyell Malen following his impressive start to the campaign.

Malen has opened the Bundesliga season with three goals in four league appearances and his performances have reportedly placed him in Jurgen Klopp’s thinking as the Reds consider attacking additions.

Liverpool fended off interest in Mohamed Salah during the summer transfer window, but the Saudi Pro League riches are expected to return for the Egyptian in the coming transfer windows.

Malen has impressed from a position on the right-hand side for Dortmund and could emerge as a potential deputy or long-term replacement for Salah.

The 24-year-old endured a disappointing debut campaign after signing for Dortmund from PSV Eindhoven in a €30m deal in 2021, but improved last season to score nine league goals and has started the new season in impressive form.

Bild are reporting that Klopp is a long-term admirer of the Dutchman, who has five goals in 23 appearances for the Netherlands at international level. Dortmund, however, are under no pressure to sell and would demand a fee in the region of €60m.
