Sancho in ‘regular contact’ with Dortmund

Jadon Sancho is in regular contact with Borussia Dortmund coach Edin Terzic with a return to the club ‘not entirely ruled out’.

Sancho is currently training away from the first-team squad at Manchester United after a public fallout with manager Erik ten Hag, with no signs of an impending truce between the pair.

Ten Hag criticised Sancho when explaining his reason for dropping the winger from the squad to face Arsenal last month, before the 23-year-old hit back and called the manager’s claims ‘completely untrue’.

Sancho has since been excluded from the squad and has refused to apologise to Ten Hag, with the breakdown in their relationship ‘likely’ to lead to an exit in the January transfer window.

Sky Sports Germany are reporting that Sancho is in ‘regular contact’ with Dortmund boss Terzic, who was interim manager at the German side towards the end of the England international’s time in the Bundesliga.

A return to Dortmund is described as ‘unexpected’ despite that contact, but has not been ruled out entirely with a loan move possible.

Dortmund, however, are not expected to be able to afford a permanent deal for Sancho, who left the club in a £72.9m transfer in 2021.
