The Premier League have announced plans to pay a mark of respect to innocent victims of the ongoing war between Israel and Hamas.
More than 1,200 Israeli citizens were killed by the armed wing of the Palestinian Islamist group over the weekend, while dozens of hostages were also seized.
The Israel Defense Forces has responded by bombarding the Gaza Strip with airstrikes, killing over 1,300 locals, according to a report from Al Jazeera. Israel has also cut off the supply of electricity, water and fuel to Gaza.
In a statement released on Thursday, the Premier League said it “strongly condemns the horrific and brutal acts of violence against innocent civilians.”
The Premier League also announced that players, managers and match officials will wear a black armband and observe a moment’s silence during the next round of fixtures, which take place after the October international break.

“The Premier League is shocked and saddened by the escalating crisis in Israel and Gaza, and strongly condemns the horrific and brutal acts of violence against innocent civilians.
“We hope for peace, and our heartfelt sympathies are with the victims, their families and the communities impacted.
“As a mark of respect for all those affected, Premier League players, managers and match officials will wear black armbands and observe a moment’s silence at the fixtures taking place from Saturday 21 to Monday 23 October.
“The League will also make a donation to the British Red Cross to support the aid efforts helping those in urgent need.”
