‘Personal favourite’ Salah ‘welcome’ in Saudi Pro League

Saudi Pro League director Michael Emenalo has said Mohamed Salah is ‘welcome’ in the division and has called the Liverpool star a ‘personal favourite’.

Salah was subject of a £150m bid from the Saudi Pro League last summer as Al-Ittihad looked to make the Egypt international their latest star signing.

Liverpool turned down the bid for Salah – who has five goals and four assists in eight Premier League games this season – but are braced for further offers next year.

Emenalo, who spent time working as a coach and scout at Chelsea, has hinted that the Saudi Pro League will return with renewed intent and has called Salah a ‘personal favourite’ as the league looks to attract high-profile stars from Europe.

“Mo is welcome at any time, but no one is pressured or forced to come,” Emenalo said, as per the Metro.

“If anyone wants to come here and there is an opportunity to work with the transferring club in a very respectful and professional manner, we would be very happy to have them.

“But Mo is a personal favourite of mine.”
